Steadfast Greening

Training and capacity building, project management and facilitation skills assist in pulling all of this together in a practical way.

Work Philosophy

Steadfast means unchanging, loyal, constant, unswerving or established. Synonyms include sure, dependable or reliable.

VISION

Our vision is to explore simple practical solutions that promote sustainable living and address global issues, so that people can understand why they need to do things differently and what they can do to make a difference.

MISSION

Our mission is to explore innovative and interactive ways that will enable people and business, large or small, as well as government agencies to implement a more sustainable business model or lifestyle. This implies showcasing good practical examples, capacity building, change management and optimal use of resources. This is based on integrity, common sense, sound business principles, social responsibility and custodianship of our natural environment.

PRINCIPLES

Sustainable development was initially coined in the Brundtland Report (Our Common Future, 1987) and has since then been widely defined by various persons and institutions. It is a fundamental goal, process and way of thinking that forms the foundation of Steadfast Greening and it reflects the triple bottom line including financial, social and environmental benefits in everything we do.

Systems thinking is the process of understanding how things influence one another within a whole. In nature, systems thinking examples include ecosystems in which various elements such as air, water, movement, plants, and animals work together to survive or perish. In organisations, systems consist of people, structures, and processes that work together to make an organisation healthy or unhealthy.

This is reinforced by concepts such as climate protection, event greening, sustainable procurement, cleaner production, zero waste, renewable energy, green buildings, fair trade, responsible tourism, effective use of resources and innovate ways to reduce the ecological footprint one step at a time. Participation, effective communication, constant monitoring and final evaluation of lessons learnt are essential steps of the process used in sustainable project management implementation.
